"We have sent three children to LeChaperon from infancy through Kindergarten.  We have been very pleased with the care and instruction at every level.  The instructors, Miss Beverly, Miss Ann the cook, and Mrs. Moga, have always greeted us with a smile and have never acted "too busy" to answer any questions or help solve any problems.  Our children have not attended past Kindergarten, but even Mrs. Grygier has always been helpful and kind whenever our paths crossed."

Additional Programs Core Curriculum

French
Learning the French language is an excellent experience for young children because it helps to develop basic foreign language skills. After a few lessons, the children are encouraged to teach others. This makes them feel important and confident. The children are taught through songs, games, and plays. They learn names for the parts of the body, animals, plants, and objects in the classroom. They are taught to count to thirty, the names of colors, and the names of items of clothing. The children also learn basic conversational French: hello, good-bye, see you soon, what is your name?, how are you?, and how old are you? They often become so enthused that even their favorite cartoon characters speak French through them.

The children know the name of the school, "Le Chaperon Rouge," means "Little Red Riding Hood" and they pray before eating in both French and English. The children enjoy French because it is fun, interesting, and different.

Spanish
This very festive language has become a must in our everyday life. The children will learn the basic words like colors, numbers, day of the week as well as the polite way to ask for things and to say thank you. They will enjoy the songs and games as well the history and cultural background of the language. We will learn, sing, and dance with all the children from Spain to Mexico.

Movement Through Music
Involves the use of large motor skills. The activities are designed to help develop the children's strength, balance and coordination. Warm-up activities include: jumping jacks, toe touches, squat thrusts, bends and stretches.

Music
"Le Chaperon Rouge" teaches songs and presents different musical instruments to the children.

Computers
Your child will be introduced to computers. He or she will become comfortable with the computer as a learning and working tool through group and individualized instruction which enables development in such skills as learning shapes, numbers and letters.

Tae Kwon Do
This ancient martial arts will help in the full development of balance and coordination. It also improves your child concentration and gross motor skills while it teaches them self defense, discipline, and respect.

Field Trips
Field trips are designed to provide the children with scientific knowledge and curiosity which may later influence their vocational inclinations. Many field trips emphasize safety and good health.

We visit museums, aquariums, a farm, fire stations, bakeries, manufacturing companies, nursing homes, police stations, doctors and dentists.

Infant Care
Our philosophy of infant care is that the day care center is an extension of the home. We create a family atmosphere, in which the child is able to crawl, touch things, climb, explore and discover on his/her own, under the exercised eye of a qualified person.

In order to accomplish as much as possible in a child's development, a permanent dialog between ourselves and you, the parent, is regarded as daily routine.

The parent is asked to provide a doctor's recommendation of specific needs or diets. All these recommendations, as well as the whole process of infant feeding, will be implemented by a nurse in charge of this section.

The blanket and pillow, along with favorite toys, are also to be provided by the parents, who will take them home weekly for washing and disinfecting.
