Aims of the
School
The staff aims to provide a creative, happy and safe environment
where preschoolers will have the opportunity to interact with peers
and adults within the framework of a supervised group. They offer
situations where children will become adept at following directions,
expressing themselves, accepting responsibility and developing leadership.
Children are also helped to develop good manners when they talk, play
and eat.
A better education has become
imperative in these times. Teaches, educators, psychologists, and
sociologists emphasize the essential role of an earlier education
in a world in which changes are taking place at an ever increasing
rate.
Most specialists in the field
of education admit that an earlier education, a pre-school education,
enables children to develop the basic patterns of their future personalities
and careers. They admit also that beginning with the first day of
life, up to the age of five, children can learn new things easier
and faster than in any period of life.
The teachers of "Le Chaperon
Rouge" agree totally with these experts, and try very hard
to provide within the day care program a real "school" environment
that prepares the children for elementary education. A day care center
does not have the right to waste a child's time or mind. Children
do need to play, but at the same time they need to learn and prepare
for school.
When a child who has attended
a pre-school is compared to one who has not, striking differences
in skills development become readily apparent, even if both had the
same intellectual potential. The child attending the day care would
be more prepared for reading, better able to color and write, able
to listen due to a longer attention span, and most importantly, would
be the more cheerful and well adjusted of the two children.

Testimonials
Our daughter Arianna
has been at Le Chaperon Rouge in Hudson
for the past five months. Our daughter came
into the class just as she was turning five years old. She
came into the class not recognizing any of her letters or
numbers, or knowing any letter sounds. She also did not look
forward to going to "school" in the morning. She
was just not enjoying her day.
It has been five
months. Arianna has learned a tremendous amount in these past
five months; mainly to the efforts of Miss Kathy. Arianna recognizes
all her numbers and letters, along with knowing her letter sounds.
She is able to sound out three letter words and read from her
"Bob" books. Arianna is able to count and add small
numbers together. The best comment I can make about her progress
is that she is learning a significant amount each day. We were
reviewing some of her work one evening and she turned, smiled
and said, "Mommy, I am learning a lot!" She was quite
proud of herself and her work. She has finally been challenged
enough in the classroom, that school has become interesting
and fun, while she is simultaneously learning. She brings home
all of her class work, art work and crafts. I ask her questions
about all of the different topics -- from animals to math --
and she consistently remembers the lessons she has learned.
The fact that she remembers, tells me she is interested in the
topic, and the topic is presented in a way that makes it interesting
to a five year old who is now interested in going to "school"
each day.
Our impression
is that your school's philosophy is to integrate current,
leading edge teaching methodologies with those successfull
skills in the past. This philosophy, along with her hard
work and conscientious, caring attitude, has produced results
with Arianna that have exceeded our expectations.
Thank you Le Chaperon
Rouge.
Best Regards,

Mrs. Moga,
I wanted to express
my satisfaction with the Hudson Le Chaperon Rouge. The
rate at which my girls have increased their knowledge of the
basics (counting, recognition of letters, numbers, shapes, colors,
etc.) has accelerated well beyond my expectations.
The number of extra
activities offered at your school is tremendous. It gives
the parents an easy way to engage their children in different
physical and mental activities that are usually difficult to
fit into their lives. Offering 2 foreign languages at
this young age will benefit them beyond their current understanding.
The computer, gym and dance classes are an easy way for the
kids to explore different activities at their own pace.
It is amazing how
much they enjoy attending your school. They rarely cry
when we drop them off and they are always smiling when I pick
them up. My 2 year old includes all 3 of her teachers
in the list of people that love her. This speaks volumes to the types of teachers you
have in your school. They are making bonds with the children
that, in my opinion, are vital for my children to grow into
loving, caring adults.
Your Director is
doing a great job running the school. She is attentive
to my comments and suggestions and she is very engaged and
expedient in resolving issues. Her approach with parents
and the children is also commendable. She knows everyone
and my girls love her as much as the teachers they spend
most of their time with. She is taking the time to
get to know the children and this makes me feel even more
confident about the care they are receiving.
Overall, my husband
and I are overjoyed we made the decision to move to your school
when it was built in Hudson. I don't even consider this
day care. You do so much more than watch over our children.
The amount of learning activities and fun activities that are
offered are helping to shape my girls into children that love
to learn and also love to explore different activities.
I really can't
thank you enough for giving Hudson a superior school to prepare
our young children for elementary school and beyond.
Best Regards,
Christine Comune - Hudson, Ohio
