WELCOME to Le Chaperon Rouge Summer Camp 2007 ! This past spring our staff has been working amazingly hard to develop an interesting and eventful program for your child full filled with various activities including, weekly field trips, music and swimming lessons, nature walks, water play, outdoor games, and library visits for accelerated reading practice. Weekly, we will be transporting to remarkable locations for our field trips. Each group will be assigned a field trip day and will attend on that day each week. A packed lunch and cold drink will be needed to be brought to summer camp on that designated day. However, the first trip, excitingly, for week one Getting to Know You, we will be heading to Southpark Mall to engage in a putt-putt tournament at Firefly Indoor Mini Golf. After partaking in that event, we will order lunch from McDonalds in the food court. What fun? During week two, we will Travel Backin Time at the Natural History Museum to learn about the ancient past. In the previous year, we took a trip to Roller Arena to roller skate and the children claimed it was their favorite trip, so what better trip for week three Not So Way Back? In July, we plan to discuss Toys and Games of the Past, History of Cleveland Sports, Old Time Children’s Classic Stories, and National/State Parks. The field trips include, eating popcorn at Crocker Park Movie Theater, Build-A-Bear (who could pass this trip up?), Brunswick Bowling Lanes (Strike!), and Hale Farm and Village to experience colonial life. For the month of August, an Old Fashion Day at the Beach will be relaxing when playing at Huntington Beach and Bay Village Park. Let’s talk about the Future at Great Lake Science Center or explore space at NASA space center. And finally, what better way to end summer? All Le Chaperon Rouge facilities will get together for our traditional day at the arcade, race tracks, batting cages, and bumper boats…Where else? Swings N Things! Any parents who would like to attend the field trips may do so! We are very thrilled and need to remind all parents that our summer camp day promptly begins at 9:00AM! Please make sure your child is here to catch all of the excitement and activities. Yours Truly, LCR Summer Staff Field Trips may vary due to center location, please call for more information. Our summer
curriculum is designed with the children's interests in mind and
activities are planned to promote active minds and active bodies.
Children will have fun in the outdoors while they actively explore,
discover, and learn about the world around them. In addition to our
planned program, the children will be encouraged to participate in
one or more of the following activities each day:
One field trip per week will be offered to our junior and senior campers. Also, each camp will host its own Talent Show in which all age levels may participate. All camps will take part in a Summer Olympics at the end of the summer. We also have weekly trips to the library and nearby parks. We are looking forward to enjoying a wonderful summer
with your children. |
